BURNING TIPS |
For
all candle styles
· Remove
all packaging before lighting.
· Place on a protected, heat-resistant, dry surface,
away from anything that can catch fire, and out of the reach
of children and pets.
· Always burn candles in their proper holder.
· Trim wick(s) to 1/8" - 1/4" before lighting.
· If smoking occurs, blow candle out. Trim wick(s),
remove trimmings, and relight.
· Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches,
or any combustible material. Keep the wick centered. Avoid
drafts.
· Use a candle snuffer to extinguish your candles.
This will prevent any candle wax from splashing out of the
container.
· Keep burning candles within sight at all times.
Containers
Handle with
care, glass containers are fragile. Do not use if cracked
or chipped.
· To minimize wax left on the sides of the container,
extinguish the flame and let the candle cool. Re-light and
nudge the wick toward the higher side. Do this a few times
and the candle will burn evenly again. It is normal for
some wax to be left, the amount varying per color, fragrance,
and burning conditions.
· Discontinue use of container when 1/2" of
wax remains.
Pillars
· When
wax pool reaches the candle's edge, extinguish flame and
allow candle to harden before relighting. This will prevent
dripping.
Tapers
· To
prevent dripping and smoking: avoid drafts, excessive vibrations
and nearby heat sources.
· Be sure tapers are straight and set firmly in their
holders.
· Trim the taper's wick to 1/8" - 1/4"
before lighting.
Votives
· Burn
only in an appropriate holder. Do not burn freestanding.

| CANDLE CARE |
| Storing
Candles
· Candles
are sensitive to light and temperature, so be careful when
storing them for any extended period of time. Avoid color
fading, melting or cracking by storing candles in a cool,
dry place, away from direct sunlight or florescent light.
They should be stored flat to prevent warping.
Votive, Pillar,
and Taper candles that are refrigerated before using will
burn more slowly and evenly. Storage temperature should
not exceed 80° F or fall below 32° F. Exposure to
moisture may inhibit relighting. Wrap in foil or plastic
before refrigeration to prevent wicks from absorbing moisture.
· Follow these guidelines when traveling with candles
also. Do not keep candles in the trunk of your car or out
in the sun, as they may melt or discolor.
Cleaning
Candles
· Should
the mouth of a container candle become blackened while burning,
simply extinguish the candle, allow to cool and carefully
wipe the container's rim with a dry paper towel. To avoid
such blackening, keep the wick trimmed 1/8" to 1/4"
at all times.
· Clean
soiled candles with a piece of nylon or use a touch of salad
oil on a soft cloth.
· To
remove hardened wax from holders, place the holder in a
freezer for about 30 minutes or until the wax has loosened,
then carefully pop it out with your fingers. Votive candles
will clean easily if you add 1/8" of water to the holders
before inserting the candle.
· To
remove the silicone globe, which holds the wick, at the
bottom of candle containers, pour a little Goo Gone or Nail
Polish Remover into the base of the container and let sit
before working loose.
